Course Overview
Fundamental safety and security preparations and procedures must be put in place to help prevent incidents or minimize the effect of those that do occur and guidelines for personal safety and security are needed to provide a framework for individual action and response and to increase confidence and awareness.
In this course, students will learn that creating a safe work environment requires careful planning and organizational commitment. Policies must be implemented, and assessments are needed to determine the level of risk and the appropriate security strategy.
The Course provides a tool for learning and reflection suitable for people who are in the formative stages of setting up a program, and identifying good practice that will help to create a balanced program. It can also be used by those who are already involved in a child-related program, from small, local projects to large, national programs.
