Course Overview
Humanitarian and development organizations increasingly operate in environments affected by conflict, political instability, natural disasters, crime, public health emergencies and other operational challenges. Effective safety and security management is essential to protect personnel, assets, programmes and the communities they serve.
This three-day professional training workshop provides participants with practical knowledge and approaches for identifying security threats, assessing operational risks and developing appropriate measures to reduce exposure to harm. The training also examines how safety and security considerations can be integrated into programme planning and day-to-day humanitarian operations.
Participants will gain practical insight into security risk assessment, incident management, emergency preparedness, field safety, travel security, crisis response and organizational risk management. Particular attention is given to decision-making in complex and rapidly changing operating environments.
