JOB PURPOSE

The Fundraising and Development Manager provides practical support and performance oversight for Amref’s existing fundraising investments in Europe and North America. The role is focused on monitoring and analyzing performance, supporting the replication of effective fundraising approaches, and helping local teams deliver strong results in individual giving. This role can be based anywhere in Europe, preferably within an Amref office (e.g. London, Paris, Madrid, Stockholm, Leiden, Rome, etc.)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitoring & Reporting on Fundraising Investments

  • Monitor and report on the performance of approved investment cases across multiple countries
  • Collaborate with local fundraising teams to track delivery against KPIs and ensure return on investment
  • Identify risks or delays and suggest practical adjustments where needed
  • Provide updates and performance reports to global leadership and governance bodies

Campaigns, Tools & Product Support

  • Support adaptation and use of fundraising products such as donor journeys and creative materials
  • Assist in local testing, learning, and scaling of successful campaign models
  • Facilitate the replication of effective tools and tactics across offices

Data, Learning & Benchmarking

  • Analyze fundraising data to understand trends in acquisition, retention, and donor value
  • Contribute to benchmarking reports, comparative analysis, and insight sharing
  • Organize and support peer learning moments and internal knowledge exchanges
  • Identifying green field opportunities and preparing profitability models to inform new investments?

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Fundraising or closely related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage
  • 7-10 years of hands-on experience in managing individual giving fundraising programs, including at international level
  • Proven experience with managing key channels including digital, face-to-face, and DRTV, and preferably also direct mail and telemarketing
  • Strong data analysis skills; comfortable working with fundraising metrics and performance reports
  • Experience in adapting and rolling out fundraising campaigns or products across markets
  • Collaborative, practical and results-focused; able to work with different teams and cultures
  • Strong communicator with excellent coordination and follow-through skills
  • Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Europe/North America, and occasionally to Africa
