- reporting and analysis on current events in Bogotá (politics, economy, culture) for all Deutsche Welle outlets
- breaking news and background reporting (TV, online) from all of Latin America (incl. travelling into crisis regions)
- live interviews and broadcasts for TV (English, Spanish)
- creation of multimedia content for the social media platforms of DW
- development of background programmes about Latin America
- organization of conversations as well as conducting interviews with relevant figures
- completed university studies as well as completed traineeship or comparable journalistic qualification
- several years of journalistic experience
- experience as foreign correspondent and crisis reporter (security training)
- ability to analyse political and geostrategic contexts
- very good knowledge of the political systems and social and cultural context in Latin America, previous experience in the region an advantage
- understanding of processes of news and social media departments
- experience as video journalist and mobile reporter
- excellent language proficiency in both Spanish and English, additional German skills an asset
- ability to work in interdisciplinary and diverse teams, high level of intercultural sensitivity and respect for diversity

We are seeking a Correspondent (f/m/d) for our DW Bureau in Bogotá, Colombia as of 1 July 2024 or as soon as possible on the basis of a full-time local staff contract limited for one year.
